  WELCOME TO THE CHOICE FOUNDATION!
The Choice Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, was founded in 2004 to promote school choice issues in Louisiana. Following Hurricane Katrina, the foundation applied for a Recovery School District charter, and was awarded the charter for Lafayette Academy. The school currently has 615 children in grades Pre-K - 7. The Choice Foundation is accountable for the success of Lafayette Academy. We, through our support of Lafayette Academy, plan to demonstrate that the charter system works!

The Choice Foundations mission is to promote school choice initiatives in Louisiana.  The ultimate promotion of school choice is to demonstrate that school choice results in better schools.  The Choice Foundation is the chartering body for Lafayette Academy a Pre K through 7th grade school in New Orleans.  The Foundation is dedicating all of its energy to provide management expertise and resources to allow Lafayette Academy to fulfill its mission to “prepare its students for success in a college prepartory high school in an atmosphere that challenges and supports each student to achieve his or her highests potential.”

LAFAYETTE ACADEMY
Lafayette Academy fourth grade LEAP scores passing rate is raised from 33% to 62%.  “A testament to the hard work of our new head of school Mickey Landry and his staff.” stated Jim Huger,  Chairman of the Board.  The school is solidly beginning the process of implementing its plans next year for further growth.
